Sleep, Airway, and Snoring Problems

The importance of maintaining an open airway has recently been recognized as one of the key factors in maintaining and sustaining our overall health.

Dr. Epstein has received advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders and sleep apnea.

Untreated Obstructive Sleep Apnea or Sleep Disordered Breathing is a significant contributor to:

  • Hypertension
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Cognitive Impairment
  • ADHD and hyperactivity in children
  • Increased Mortality
  • Depression
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • Depression, Irritability and Memory Impairment
  • Teeth Grinding/Clenching or “TMJ”

Snoring is often a sign of airway obstruction and can be effectively treated with a simple oral sleep appliance constructed in our office.

In children, the shape of the jaws provides proper space for the tongue, tonsils, and adenoids to develop. This factors into the development of a patent airway, and is often overlooked.

We provide an at-home sleep screening study in coordination with a board-certified sleep physician. The results of this test help us to determine the severity of the disorder and make appropriate referrals to your medical team if necessary.
