Enhanced Oral Cancer Screening

The increasing incidence of oral cancer (at present, 3 times as prevalent as cervical cancer) is of grave concern, as this is a very aggressive disease which is too often diagnosed only in late stages.

Dr. Epstein has always performed thorough examinations of the lips, tongue, and soft tissues within the mouth, but new technologies now allow for enhanced screening and early detection of oral cancer.

We currently use Velscope, a non-invasive aid to examine under the surface of the tissues inside the mouth, to detect any changes not visible with the naked eye.
